I suppose you could take a low mileage engine and put it in another bike and a high mileage one with a low miles odometer and pass it off as a low mileage bike. Would you pay the same for a bike with 1,000 miles on the motor as one with 100,000 miles? What's wrong w an engine swap?
The VIN# is on the title. The Supervisor training my clerk told me that the Engine serial # was recently accidently was put on the title by the State, and that it wasn't supposed to be on the title because it was a "Check" during registration.Minnesota requires both the frame Vin # and engine # as it was explained to me by a DMW official to help track possibly stollen engines from being placed in legally titled frames. Think custom bikes of the 70's. When stealing bikes to cut up for parts was a very profitable business.
