hello everyone. i want to rebuild my 1980 cx500c engine. i'm not looking to do a bottom up. i have the bike completely apart, down to the frame. she ran great before i took her apart. i would like some insight as to what i should change out and replace. i know there are alot of members here whom have embarked on this journey. i want her to be a solid reliable runner. thanks in advance for the help. two wheels are better than four.....

Assuming you don't have any "piston slap" - where there is space between your piston and connector bearing - a bottom up rebuild probably won't be necessary. Read as much as you can througout this forum.

The "triple bypass" seems to be the wise order for any rebuild. Cam chain & tensioner, mechanical seal and stator. I'm going through this now on my 650. All the information is found within the forum.

And don't forget to ask questions.
