Hey Forum,

so in the midst of trying to resurrect an 1980 cx500. the engine has been in pieces for literally years before i got to it. my first job is to obviuously see what im working with and its mostly good news. i am trying to get a really good clean except i am doing it diy from home. aside from loads of degreaser and a stiff brush, what are some great aluminium parts cleaning techniques?

also, i want to make the cases look really nice so i can have the option of leaving it raw, though i may paint at a later stage. i have heard varying advice about sanding the engine cases, some say no way and some say its the only way. what do you think?

thanks in advance.

I posted a reply in your other thread. It is best to post a question in only one of the forums rather than having multiple posts of the same question.
