I really like this new board software, and I do know that this IPB format supports many more different emoticons than what is currently available. Is it more expense to add in more of them?

p.s. I also know this software will support a chat room function, and that has been asked about before....would there be much interest in that now? Expense? My understanding is it would ride on a different server than the main board.

Using smileys is unmanly for some but they are useful in setting the tone of the text. I think more would be helpful. Remember the egghead smiley, the one with nerd glasses? That was a versatile one.



Chat room? Maybe age dependent, but being an old fart I really don't want to sift through posts that moan about the icky ham sandwiches at lunch that didn't have mustard on them.

As to age dependent, I'm an old fart too, and I like to vent about lack of mustard occasionally. It was just meant to see what the consensus was.

I think a chat feature might take away from the forums helpfulness. Were working up a reference of searchable material now (this new search function isnt doing much good yet since there is nothing to search for), but with a chat feature nothing would be organized.



Emoticons though. I like them. They do seem a little unmanley, but can help convey the tone of your post. Used properly they can be both amusing, and help stop big debates over simple misunderstandings.



I put in my 2 cents. Do I get a penny back for my thoughts.

ok now to get back on track i dont think we need a chat room to much hassle and problems start in chat rooms and for the smileys i dont care one way or the other i hardly ever use them
