So my bike is in another city right now and I am looking to install barbs in my custom overflow reservoir. I need to know what size of barb to install tomorrow while I have access to "free" barbs. So maybe if someone knows the ID of the rad hose they could help out? I searched the NAPA #8230 and gates hoses but didn't see a diameter anywhere. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist. I would get a 125 lbs Barb, maybe in the 35-24-35 size. Try to find one that likes bikes tho. Or a 1/4" would also probably work. Don't quote me on this size, a pure guess.

If I recall they liked to use 5mm hose on stuff too, bit smaller than 1/4"

stumped me as well,i thought the thread was a wind up...

a barbed fishing hook

I believe he's referring to barbed fittings: http://www.hailiang.com.au/upfiles/1228728607BarbedFittings.jpg

I also think he's making a custom bike thus is trying to figure out how to tap in a line for a coolant overflow?

On most older cars they were integral to the radiator, don't know about these bikes though thus my confusion in his wanting to know about the ID of the upper radiator hose - probably wants to install a Tee in it?
