On the other forum, we had a disussion about the seat on the "E" and turbo not fitting properly. Here are a few pics taken at the amish rally showing the hook and the hole in the seatpan. After putting the hole over the hook, the seat is slid forward to engage the hook in the seat.

I don't think that hook is used on the turbos....or at least the 650T as I checked last week while doing maintenance. I do have suction cups on the back of the seat which the E doesn't appear to have.

Next time I have the 500 apart I'll have to check it.

Tony, I think that little tang on the rear seat support frame is ONLY on the CX500EC and the CX650 ED - the Sport/Euro models. I reported that something like a year ago, but I'll likewise check one of my CX500TCs in the near future. All four seats I have for 500EC's have wear marks at that hole in the plastic base-pan.

So if the CX500's don't have that tab to hold the rear seat down, could you retrofit one onto it? The CX500 Turbo seat appears to have the same hole there for it, but also a couple suction cups, which I don't understand, they don't seem to be in a position to "hold onto" anything? My front tabs on the tank are intact and the seat is mounted there correctly, but the back still has that 1/2 inch space that just looks odd? Thoughts???
