I'm beginning to think my bike maybe a gl ,The side panels say cx but it is equiped with a factory fairing(I think its factory)and has no headlamp mounting provisions on the forks.Is this how ya tell em apart?Sorry for all the questions but I am very new to bikes and you guys have been very helpful.Thanks.

I believe the VIN plate on the headstock lists the original model configuration. Provided you can see it with the fairing and that the wiring bundles haven't worn off the lettering. The very bottom line usually lists the model number.

..... wouldn't the motor say? Mine says GL500

It's probably a CX that someone installed a fairing on. If you can post some pics we can tell you what it is. If it looks like the bike in the pic to the left, it's a GL 500 with a Hondaline fairing.

If ya SEE the shocks......it's definatley of the CX variety. If ya DON'T see the shocks, then, it's a GL.

seat is one piece king and queen style.Will get pics soon but looks like the engine has to come out first.
