Hey guys, absolute newbie here, just bought my first motorbike, 1983 CX650 custom and started work on it, taking the engine out and going to try and give it a thorough tune up. Im armed with the haynes and the Clymer guides but for the life of me i cannot find the locating bolt to disengage the drive shaft, any help or pictures where i can find the bloody thing would be much appreciated. Great forum been searching all over the place getting used to the bike on it! Many Thanks,
Scott
Scott,
There is no bolt. You do not have to remove the c-ring unless you want to take the output shaft out of the rear case. Your bike is the only transverse twin to use this set-up. Why it was changed for the CX650c only is totally beyond me.
If the driveshaft came off that hard be sure to clean up the splines carefully and lube them up with the proper grease so it moves freely on the output shaft ...
