hi scott, and welcome from spain.Hey guys, absolute newbie here, just bought my first motorbike, 1983 CX650 custom and started work on it, taking the engine out and going to try and give it a thorough tune up. Im armed with the haynes and the Clymer guides but for the life of me i cannot find the locating bolt to disengage the drive shaft, any help or pictures where i can find the bloody thing would be much appreciated. Great forum been searching all over the place getting used to the bike on it! Many Thanks,
Scott
no clip of any sort scottGot it off today, there is no bolt, blindstitch was right, you just have to get it up on the jack and slide it forward. Thanks a lot for all the help though, im sure i will be on again with more questions soon! cheers.

i think Davids answer has covered it,being pretty definitiveUnless we get the voice of experience to give a definitive answer
I'd suggest pulling the boot way back and checking there really is no bolt
If so, I'd use gentle to moderate leverage to see if the UJ will move and
pull away from the output shaft.
maybe you need to pull the motor forward a bit too?
Obviously someone who's done the job on a 650C would be the best guide.
