Just catching up on this thread. First fellow on the left is my brother Dave, not bro'law Ernie. Good job on the names though Bill.
I stand corrected. He does kind of look like you Rich! Thanks for setting me straight.

I head back to Appleton early next week for work. Disappointed that I won't be able to visit our friend again this time. Having said that though, I'm very glad that I was able to coordinate / take the time to visit with him back in the fall.

That's supposed to be part of the ride, to take his ashes from Appleton to a cemetery in Fond du Lac where his family members are buried.

Sadly,
With the borders still being a hassle, I will not be able to attend.
I will certainly be there in spirit.

I just recieved details from David's Niece, Heather, regarding his memorial and interment on Aug 7th.
David's BMW Club is planning on meeting at 10AM at the Blue Line Hockey Rink parking lot in Fond du Lac, WI at 10AM. The address is 550 Fond du Lac Ave, Fond du Lac, WI 54935. The plan is to ride together from there to the cemetery, meet my Dad on his bike (David's remains will also be on the bike) and proceed to the burial site.

The burial will be at 10:30 AM at Calvary Cemetery 686 Fond du Lac Ave, WI 54935. It will be somewhat brief, with David's friend speaking a few words, the BMW Club placing a plaque, and one or two of David's favorite songs.

Following the burial, the BMW Club will ride together to St. Paul's Lutheran Church 1010 Adams Ave North Fond du Lac, WI 54937, where we will all meet for a luncheon.

Please share this information with anyone else you think may be interested. All I ask is that they email me to let me know they are coming as we want to be sure to have enough food for everyone!

Google says it's just under 5 hrs from Minneapolis. I have yet to decide if I'll go part way Friday night or make an early start Saturday morning. If anyone else is going from the Twin Cities, we could caravan.

Unfortunately, I'm a long, long way from Wisconsin. Please convey my condolences to the family & friends.

Randall,
Hopefully some more adventure seekers step forward. I envy your trip. I'm going to be entering a race. Melody has to go in to work early that morning in hopes to get out early and then we're going to haul *ss to get there in time for the ride in. We're only 70 some miles away but traffic can get stupid whenever it wants.

Hope to see others from the group there.

Jean has been been having some unexpected surgeries, in addition to just having her second highly successful cataract surgery. I'll know if I can go soon.
Randall, leaving the day before sounds better than the morning of the memorial. What is your route,I94 until it runs out?

Appleton is in the direction of Pennsylvania from Minneapolis ... Just sayin'.

Stock up on $2 bills and practice the wiener handshake.

Well the ride went off just as expected. Sunny, nice, and then rain. It was a nice group all with stories. Some people I know a lot of people I hadn't seen in a while and I think it went well. Here are a few low res photos from today.

On the ride to the church for lunch a train crossed our paths. Not sure which line he worked for but it's a train.
