I'm going to take a look at an 83 CX650c this afternoon that has about 22k miles. Is there anything in particular that I should watch out for?

Engine noises.The engine should not be noisy.Other than that

These are a great bike. One thing on mine I noticed right away was that the bottom front exterior of the radiator was packed with fine sandy grit from bring ridden on gravel. Having a shorty front fender the road grit fills this space up nicely. I fashioned a fiberglass screen with strips of double backed taped to foam window weather stripping and just pressure fit it betweentwo of the plastic radiator grills. It stays in nicely and doesnt affect cooling at all and easily comes off in about three seconds. My understanding is that there were only about 1800 of these bikes sold in the U.S. so if you find a good one grab onto it. You'll love it. M.

Oh yeah,and watch out for the throttle. These bikes hit 85 mph without even trying. Ha!

It's the CX/GL.Dukes are common.Our bikes aren't and are unusual

You are thinking of the cx650 turbo - there were only 1777 produced with around 1000 being imported into the country.



Regarding the 650 custom, according to one of the registries someone has vin number 7,636 so we know production numbers for the 650 custom were at least that...



Regardless all 650's were a one year bike so they are a lot less common than the 500's. Having said that though, some parts can be difficult to source...
