I would like to put an 18inch wheel on the back of my 1981gl500I and have seen some cx500 turbo wheels on ebay. Would they fit on my gl? Thanks

By the way I replaced my stock mufflers[one was rusted out] with dyna-glide mufflers and they look great sound good [just slightly louder with a low rumble] and were very resonable.

I think Need for Steed put a turbo wheel on the back of his bike. But the rim you know you want is a Honda cx500 standard made in 78. That's the 18 inch rim that I know fits.

Turbo wheels are gold or silver.

Thanks, It seems that the '78' wheels are a little hard to come by and I thought the turbo wheel might be sturdier built if it would fit my bike.

Not only do they have completely different spokes, but the rear is a 17" diameter.

I had thought [wrongly] that the turbo wheel was 18" , thanks for the correction! Anyone have and 18" wheel for sale?

thanks, Frank
IT DOES NOT WORK! I tried and tried and you would need a complete swing arm, but then the mono shock setup on the turbo doesnt work with the mono shock on the GL. Unless you are going to do some major fabing, it will not work. But i was able to get the turbo front end work on a GL.
