I've a 1980 CX500D. I've have saddle bags from a 1980 500 silverwing. What do I need to mount these to my machine?

Did you get the mounting brackets, or just the bags? Also put your bike type/model and location in the signature line.

I have hardware. I'm not sure if it's complete. Looks so. 1980 cx500d.

I'm about to do the same with my '78 Standard (essentially the same as your Deluxe, in that regard.) My plan is to replace the main brackets on the bags with custom fabricated brackets that will hook over the grab bar or the bar of my luggage rack. First, I need to attach the forward mount at the foot peg. That will show me where the bracket and taillight relocator want to align.



They won't be lockable, unless I make the hangers so that they catch under the seat, but my big concern is being able to easily dismount them to roll into the garage.

Assuming you know what you're talking about...



If you have brackets to hold bags to a cx then you can remove the brackets from the gl500 and drill holes in those bags and bolt them into place.



Of curse they didn't make a 1980 500 silverwing.
