CX500C gas tank for the Custom frame for sale. $150 plus shipping. In pretty good shape. Can't use it for the 78 CX500 I'm rebuilding unless I modify the frame. Will not fit the CX500D. Only the CX500C from 79-81. Will consider swapping for a CX500D deluxe tank.
An ignition key will open the tank lock.

Can't see very well deep into the bottom of the tank, but I only saw a little bit of surface rust. Except for a few small dings and some repair work someone did on the left forward mount, it is in pretty good shape for thirty plus years.

Right on. I’m going to paint it anyway. Mine is a little dinged up and I want to replace it, that one looks nice. I have to go ahead and give it a shot - how’s $100 plus shipping sound?
