Just finished a full restoration of my Honda cx500 Turbo 1982. Done about 60 miles a couple of weekends ago and all just dandy. One problem was an intermittent contact in the ignition switch. Sorted that. Just been out and 5 miles down the road, it felt like it was running out of fuel, system warning light can on and it died. Started fine, into gear and off we go but did the same thing after a few yards and the same again. The only way to get home was to switch off and on by using the kill switch whilst slowly riding along.

Seems like the fuel pump is being turned off but fires up when the ignition is killed. All I did was to take the headlight out to change the Speedo cable! Any ideas?

The injectors are the original but had been standing for 6 years although it had been running fine. The filter is a new car type, as recommended by a turbo geeck. No not had them cleaned or flow checked. Where do I get that done, in the UK? I do have a spare used pair from an engine that had been unused for at least 10 years with no visual evidence of damage.

Remove the connector on the injector and clean connection. Reinstall and see what happens. I don't know where to clean in the UK....

If the W is on and the 3 is blinking it should be an open or short circuit to the right injector. Check all connections including at the ECU..

Sorted! The plug to the right hand injector was loose. Snapped it on and starts first time. Not been out on it but I think that’s the problem. Thank very much for your help. Just kicking myself, I did not notice that on side of the road. Will have to wait till next weekend, now.

Late reply but if you want a quality injector cleaning service in the UK use this guy www.injectortune.co.uk, the website shows how the cleaning etc is done and the service is excellent,he sends a total report and printout regarding the injectors, flows and everything else that you could wish to know, and he used to own a 650E, and is a avid Turbo admirer! What more could you want.
