does anyone know where to buy a direct oil temp gauge for a cx500? there are various on ebay, but i need to know if someone has one on their bike that fits exactly in place of the dipstick. And US location would be great, 'cause i know there are a couple of them in the UK.
Thanks

Easy enough to make one yourself using a meat thermometer. I built one by measuring then cutting off the original dip stick then drilling a hole in it and inserting a $5 Harbor Freight digital meat thermometer. No glue or anything, just an interference fit. Filed a upper and lower level notch on the probe.

As said earlier, the oil temp is really not a problem for a water-cooled bike. You can't gauge anything by it anyway, as other issues are likely to be concerning before hand. If the engine gets too hot, a lot of other damage has already taken place.

Who can look at an oil temp gauge and diagnose anything? Oil pressure is a different animal. That would tell you something.

Don,
I have some tips in a link below on posting photos. The key is getting the copy of the source photo.

Question: How many meters at a speed with 75 mls/h do You run blind / without watching the street and traffic in front of You ?

To stopp on the right side of the street to check the oil temperature is ridiculous.

Translated for the english and australien guys here:
