So I removed my primary leads from the coils think that that I can just thread in new wires. Wrong!

So now I need to coils.

I noticed 80 and new run two wires to the coil instead of one like on my 79

I’m assuming the second wire black/white is ground but idk

What are your recommendations on coils?

And I don’t care for those coils in caps mods

If you have a CDI bike, you may just want to get these (splicers) to allow new leads....easy to obtain in US

The two wire coils are either for 12 volt TI or are "universal fit. Check ebay for pit bike coils, many here use them.

I think you have the primary and secondary mixed up. The primary is the low voltage side and the secondary is what connects to the spark plug.

BTW: It is possible to replace the spark plug wires on coils that have them permanently attached but when the pit bike coils work and you can get them so cheaply it seems like more trouble than it is worth for most people

The process as per the XS link @4 does look convoluted.....(as you alluded to)
