where can i find the distributor cap and points on the cx500 1976



my mc will not start - i am not much of a mechanic, but neither do i have dollars to bring to a shop



i tried starting, not sure if it is an electrical prob or gas problem (yes i do have gas in the tank)

There were no cx's made until 1978. They have no points or distributor cap.



Try removing a spark plug, then attach it to the spark plug boot and hold the tang of the plug against the triangular engine bracket in front of the carbs while rolling the engine over with the starter. Look for a spark.

Let us know if you have spark. This will give us some idea what to test next.



Also a little background info would help,,when was the bike last running, etc.
