Hello Chaps



Can anyone out there in CX/GL land give me any information on vinal tank covers for the cx. I have seen a few on ebay but they went quickly. Is there any suppliers that anyone could give me the details of. My tank is solid but looks tatty so I thought I would cover it until the eventual stripdown and overhaul.

I´ve seen them too. I believe eBay UK only (can very well be wrong about just that).



I was bidding on two different tank covers some years ago but was soon outbid.



Someone in the UK http://www.cx-gl.org.uk/ ought to know more - the tank covers may even have been manufactured there. Maybe some firm even have some NOS??



Try a question in "Classic Motorcycle Mechanics". I´ve seen stranger questions there...

Damn this isn't going to be much help but there was a guy on the old forum with a mint cx500 deluxe and he got a cover for his from a company on the internet and I'm thinking it cost some major cash.



What about some stretch material like pantyhose. They have similar helmet skins.

Some years ago I made one for a cb500. I bought some seat cover material off the web and after making a template in paper give it to a girlfriend to run up on her machine. It turned out better and cheaper than anything bought!

Personally not very fond of them. In the past when I used them, at least the ones I had, I found them to trap moisture



and dirt/dust. Now if you can find one that is easily removed for a quick wipe down after rain/washing, that would be slick



As it stands now I like my girl bra-less.
