Coolant Piping O-rings...

1314 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Shep
I have some O-rings seals that are slow leakers in an around the thermostat, has anyone sourced these anywhere and how much were they? I pulled the lower return pipe and to evaluate the O-ring and it has taken a permanant set...after flushing and returning the O-ring back into position, a really slow leak developed.

Are they all identical? I did not pull them from the thermostat tubing yet.

I know a lot of you guys have Oring kits & just eye-ball them, but any standard replacement parts available anywhere w/o buying an entire motor gasket kit? I will measure them tonight and most likely source them from mcmaster carr...but just in case they are readily avialable or you know maybe the Advanced Auto Number...etc!

Thanks!

They are the same throughout the cooling system.....at the water pump, at the thermostat etc.

They can be purchased from Bikebandit.com......I got some there.

But I'm pretty sure you could take one of the old ones down to your local hardware or auto parts store and get some that would match up real close and work just fine....not a must be OEM part.....just as long as they seal.

EDIT: As for the sometimes asked question "do the o'rings go in between the 2 little indentions on the pipe or at the end of the pipe" ? I put one in each spot so I didn't have to decide.
