Today I got the mongrel MOT tested and it was fun to

ride the old thing again.

I managed to make the 2 mile ride a 7 mile one

It now has an electric rad fan and Shep gave me some thermo

switches but I found it was coming on a bit soon and this may be due to me sticking it on the lower part of the top rad chamber

According to my laser temperature gun thingy pointed at the rear

of the heads it was coming on at 70 ish degrees.

I recall Shep saying about positioning it just so but

as usual, ignored the instructions.

Not a serious problem I have some other control methods in mind

and will link it to the outputs of my LED temp gauge and I can

by pass it and use the Hi-Tech organically controlled Over ride switch in the meantime.

Yeah, I know. I'll stick a switch on it sometime, shorting it to the bars is a bit of

a bodge

The bike wont be road taxed/legal until the first of next month anyway so plenty of time to tinker with an automatic control system

One wee thing I noticed is when I got back and left it running

to see if the fan would switch off, the motor started to struggle

and cut out.

It restarted easily enough but did it again after a while

and did it when the fan was disconnected as well

Not sure what that is yet.

Now its cooled down it starts at the touch of the button.

Will check the plug colour first.

Its just the one Rick

Its got a Motad 2-1 exhaust I was given when assembling the

bike from left over parts.

I know a 2-2 looks nice and balanced but actually prefer the 2-1

from a functional point of veiw

I can remove it in less then 5 minutes.

4 header nuts and one 14mm bolt on the rear footpeg and its off

No farting about with H box seals and such.

Heres the somewhwt naked looking RH side

IGNORE THE MILK CARTON !!

thats err..... an experiment honest !!

Heres the LH side

Looking great Reg! Please do tell more of the milk carton. What is the make? How tall is the payload? Is it a camper for upright sleeping? That's the smallest pickup I've seen. I like it!

I like the fork boots, wish I'd thought of that when I had my forks apart a few weeks ago. Linny, did you ever see the thread where Reg shoved his cx into the back of that thing? Seems physically impossible...

Actually Kingston

It was my BMW K100RS with RT fairing I stuffed into the that wee van

jeez what a struggle !

The CX would have been easy to dismantle and throw in but

it broke down due to battery failure on the way up to fetch the van

so I took the beemer.

The van looked bigger in the Ebay picture

Luckily Trevh helped me out.

the thing on the headlamp is where the MOT tester didn like the

headlight pattern and said it didnt dip to the left properly and stuck

that tape on for me a few years back
