Anyway, damage to the nut or not you should always care about torque. In addition to encountering nuts that were damaged by loosening/tightening with a chisel or screwdriver and a hammer (In the dim past I thought they were designed to be treated that way) I have also had one that I tightened that way come off. After that I modified a socket and used a torque wrench.

Ash: I don't think that is the right size for the CX clutch nut. It says it is 1.5" diameter; You can never trust whether dimensions given without a drawing are the size of the item or the box it comes in but if it is the actual wrench that is way too big. As I said 6 years ago (post #7 above) I made mine from a 15/16" socket which would be at most 1-1/8" outside diameter.
