clear coat remover

Outside of a lot of elbow grease, is there a solvent that will easily take off the clear finish that is on the polished parts?

Not so sure I'd spend $7 bucks on a "stripper" from Walmart

I'm not totally sure it is the best, but geeze....brake fluid did a number on my valve covers clear coat.
