If you set up your rear signal lights as running lights you will need to have red lenses or bulbs.

There should be a switched running light in the factory brake lamp if you're putting them on the rear. Get a test light or meter to figure out which wire it is then tap into that for the running lights. Some people hate these but I've found them decently reliable and very easy to use, it also means you don't have to cut any wires: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2104093

And yes - if you're putting them on the rear you'll need to find some translucent red paint for the lenses.

It would also pay to put a little silicone grease inside those, you'd get plenty from one of those 0.99 squeeze packs of spark plug boot grease at any auto parts store, they're usually on the sales counter.

If you're putting them on the front I think there's already wires for running lights separate from the turn signals.
