Hey guys, gonna be tearing into my carbs over the next couple of days and cleaning them. Im pretty familiar with round slides, but never touched one like this. Just lookin for any tips yall may have and stock settings. I am using the stock airbox and what seems to be the stock mufflers with hbox removed. Will be going to pods and a 2into1 down the road. Thanks

Well the air fuel screws get set between 2-2 1/4.

The bigger jet goes in the brass emulsion tube.

Having the right screwdriver makes a difference and maybe even a small 1/4 inch impact driver for loosening screws.

An ultra sonic cleaner makes life easier.

Geez, im idiot. Theres 2 acv's, correct? I tore my carbs apart today but did not separate and now have them soaking in vinegar. Im at work right now and looking thru threads im seeing that theres a acv on each carb, well I only removed one, DOH! Think the vinegar will eat it? Also one of my bowl gaskets has a clean tear thru it. Think it would be alright to reuse?

Yep 2. And the GL500 carbs are super special in that they are so close together the inside one is darn near impossible to access.

As for vinegar killing your rubber, it might, so just block it off instead.
Block off the valves? I read a thread on that but someone also said that it would run lean. And I didnt quite understand how to.
Another question, on my accel pump diaphram there is a small tear on one side of it. It is double layer so how long do yall think it would last?
I found 2 acv's on ebay for $30, and 2 bowl gaskets for $15 and an accel pump for $15 on siriusconinc. Is that about the best prices to expect?
got the stuff ordered, finished cleaning and boiling with distilled water today and i found this spring, ball and brass piece on my work table.....i did not take it out and am not sure where it came from. the float bowl behind it is the one with the accel pump and you can see that the little brass piece looks just like the one on the bowl.....i really need to know where this goes back, thanks

I believe it goes into the bottom of the accelerator pump cover. It is a check valve to keep fuel from returning. Ball in first, then spring, then brass block with square end exposed.
awesome, thanks. it fit
