Hi everyone

I own a 1981 honda cx500 deluxe and im trying to clean my carbs. i have bought the carb book and the cleaner and all but once i remove the carbs out of the bike i saw that there was two nipples where gas was flowing out when i tilt the carbs one in each side, i dont remember unplugging anything out of there , can someone please explain what these nipples are for and where do they get connected? im new at these, can someone enlighten me on the purpose of these two nips. Please and thanks

They're just atmospheric vents to allow air flow through the carb to compensate for changing fuel levels.

Nothing connects to them and they shouldn't be blocked.

If fuel comes out of them on the bike it is because the float needles are leaking and the overflow tubes in the float bowls are blocked.

If it's only happening when you tilt the carbs it's likely a non issue.
