I had a big post typed up, but decided to TLDR it for you all instead.
Currently I'm building up an 80 CX500 as a mild scrambler. My experience with running K&N filters on my last scrambler was a disaster. 12k miles and the rings were shot on my little 250. TONS of grungy dirt got past the K&N and coated the inside of the intake manifold. Not cool. So for my CX500 scrambler, I need an airbox and an oiled foam filter. I also intend to do the occasional water crossing, so exposed filters are not a good option for that reason either.
See last crossing:
That was actually just past the deepest part, which was another 6-8 inches deeper. I'd have ridden it, but to the right is a causeway and the current was push-the-bike-over strong.
Anyhow, what are my options for Murray's carbs and a stock or stock-ish airbox?
Charles.
