Can this shaft seal be purchased at a local store like Napa? Cycle shops are closed. I see it on eBay sold from other counties.

also what is the trick to get the cover back seated on the shaft aligning the tach?. I’m stumped.

It's a standard oil seal, just get the correct size(on the moto faction site I think). You kinda got to rotate the cam shaft cover into place.

Outside of getting the seal. I tried to refit the cover on with so success. I’ve rotated the cover and rotated the tach. Nothing has worked to match it up.

Front cam seal is 17 x 28 x 7. Rear is 18 x 28 x 7. Both are standard sized seals which should be available at any bearing shop.

Rotating the cover one way will draw the cover on, rotating the other way pushes it off. It will soon become apparent which is which.
