I have a 81 cx500 custom and the throttle sticks. I think it's because the cables are pinched somewhere. Where can I find the "right" routing so I can see if that's the issue?

Pictures would be a great help. Every time I turn tight to the right, the throttle goes wide open!

Look near the front of the Factory Shop Manual. You can download the FSM from the CX wiki (link in my signature).
IIRC you have to look in the back in the addendum section for the CX Custom routing.

IIRC, its been nearly 14 months since I saw and placed my 81 CXC into storage.

The throttle cables leave the grip heading down in front and past the head tube to the left side of the bike. Then turn rearwards to run parallel to the upper frame spine under the fuel tank, then to the carbs.

Take the tank off. Route the cables, then turn the fork lock to lock watching the carbs. There should be zero cable movement at the carbs. Remember, only gentle turns, no sharp bends.
