Can anyone tell me if C3 bearings are adequate replacements for the transmission, final shaft & shift drum bearings? David Silvers are currently out of stock of one or two & the others are special order.

I can get replacements from a supplier I usually use next day, but they are all C3 rated.

Thank you

Should be OK if your bike tends to run cool.

They are rated up to 100 celcius.

I'm pretty sure that's what is running in my gearbox.

I would need to check my stock of gearbox bearings to be sure.

I don't replace shift drum bearings - or haven't to date - as these lead a particularly easy life and should be good to go unless corroded, but I've replaced all of the others in a few transmissions now..

Always thought C3 bearings meant slightly larger radial clearance, is there a temperature related meaning as well or a different standard?
