I just purchased an emgo universal tail light and im a little confused about the wiring. It has only 2 wires attached, black and red, my bike has three wires stock! What should i do? It has a dual filament bulb in the light so it should be brake and tail i assume. Its a lucas style light and im hoping others have run into this problem....

Thanks,

Jordan

As it has a dual filament bulb and two wires, I'd say it grounds via its metal frame

does it have metal fixing studs?

If so, you'll probably find continuity between these and the bulb holders so an eyelet terminal

on a stud can carry the ground wire.

Some may have the backplate stamped out in such a way that a female blade terminal can attach to it

if so, this can carry the ground wire.

i havnt got a wireing diagram to hand, but its not hard to work out.

Reg has told you they are both live.the rear light and the brake light.hook it up and try it.you know the brake light will be the brighter of the two.50% chance on getting it right first time
