The CX500 Turbo... what diameter is the splined shaft that the brake pedal mounts to? Same as a CX500 or a GL500? Thanks.

Charles.
OK Charles, Not a simple story in Oz, at least. The CX500 NA from 1978 to 1982 has what appears to be a 19mm diam shaft for the brake pedal - that's CX500 (Shadow as we term the standard CX) and the Custom from 1979 to 1982.

However the 1982 CX500EC Sport has a 17 mm brake pedal shaft, as does my GL500I, and the 1983 CX650ED Sport, too(all N/A).

The 500 turbo has the 17 mm shaft, also.

Can't speak for the Deluxe and the 650 Turbo, though.

Taht's what I needed to know! I have the 17mm shaft from a GL500 on my CX500 - I had to cut the entire bottom bracket where the center stand and lower shock mount attach off the GL500 and weld it in place on my CX500. So, if the Turbo has a 17mm shaft, it will work perfectly! Already ordered one on eBay!
