Hey Guys, has anybody put new brake lines on their bike? If so, anybody know the best place on the net to get them? I am wondering if there is a specific size or attachement needed, it's hard to find any good information on this.

Thanks for any info you can give me.

Hi

many people fit braided hoses and its generally regarded

as a worthwhile upgrade.

If you list your bike model and location I think you'll

get a more detailed advice.

Folk can tell you what you need or what options you have

and maybe the nearest place to get it too.

Contact Craig here, this guy rocks

Good prices, fast shipping, and he has a lot of the dimensions for the lines/fittings on-hand...so most likely you won't have to send yours in.

Also if you are replacing the brake line, may as well clean the master cylinder and caliper while your at it, and replace any parts that are necessary.

I just ordered one through Craig. I didn't have to send anything in, he already had everything for a 1979. It cost me $45, that included shipping. Should have it by the 21st.

Thanks for the help guys. My bike is a 79 cx500 deluxe. I'll try that website.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong but is it possible to use pretty much any brake reservoir if I wanted to replace mine?

Well you want to make sure it fits 7/8" bars and has a bore of 14mm or roughly there abouts...I've seen a couple guys on here who got one with a bore of 12.76mm or something around that and it worked fine....also make sure the Banjo Bolt thread pitch is 10x1.25 mm.

If you go to Ebay and search for CX500 master cylinder you'll find a few to choose from and you'll also see the specs I've mentioned in the description.
