hi - every time I torque the caliper to the retainer, the caliper becomes slightly misaligned, from what I can tell. Attached are some pics. Any ideas? when i loosen the bolts, the caliper becomes more aligned. I followed FSM step by step and the slide pins are aligned correctly

Check that it is sitting on the sliding pins 'feet' properly.

If not, the caliper cocks to the side and everything begins to drag.

just getting back to this... interesting - I took the caliper off and noticed this (see picture.) I highly doubt that damage was done from me, but maybe? I assume I need to file this flat to get it to sit on the pin feet flush? Any thoughts?

That's the sort of thing I meant. File the burrs off and ensure correct alignment on assembly.

filed burrs off and fits like a glove. Thanks CXPHREAK!
