I was talking to TAS on the phone today about a part they owed me from some time back and they recently raided quite a few older Honda shops and added about 80,000 new parts to their inventory, many for the CX/GL series. Just an FYI for those looking for something NOS as that's mainly all they carry.

While unreated I asked about a braided front brake line and they have a kit ("kit probably only means that it includes new crush washers) for $42 and free shiping.

Has anyone ever tried one of theirs and, regardless, would that be a good price?

As far as theirs goes, I've never tried it but $42 is a good price.  I paid $60 for my line.  The only place I know of that you should stay away from is an Ebay vendor based in Canada.  These guys sold me a brakeline that leaked like a sieve and when I sent it back they claimed they never received it and I never got a refund or an exchange.  I'd never do business with them, and wouldn't recommend anybody else buy from them either.

What is the phone # for TAS?

Thanks

Right about in the middle of their web page: http://www.tasclassicmotorsports.com/

(BTW:

The website isn't always up to date, they're more into providing a good parts selection than they have time to update the site)

They've treated me really well over the past year and a half and can often locate (or have) items other places show as NLA.

These are, as best as he could describe, sort of a smoky color you can see the silver braid through. Ordered one and an air filter from them for $50 including shipping. Always nice to deal with them on the phone and they're familiar with the forum. Didn't ask himif we could set up some sort of discount for thread member as they're alread cheaper than most other places on their parts.

I had a brake hose made by this guy

http://cgi.ebay.com/...=item19bec81d51

The hose reminds me of a guitar cord with plastic around it. Its not bad but it may not be what you have in mind.

Either way he repsonds quickly and will make any custom setup for cheap. With shipping mine was about 40 bucks.

How has it performed for you? That's the same guy I'm about to order 3 lines to replace the stock Magna's on my Magna front end....

Yea, not many businesses are still run mainly by family anymore. They also seem to know their bikes as well, you can say "that thingy that" and chances are they'll know exactly what you're talking about.

Getting ready to order a front brake hose.

Will appreciate information on these hose suppliers, if the hoses are still working well.

Thanks,

Craig @ JDA has an exact pattern on file to make the hose for your 1980 Deluxe, it's the same as the 1979

My problem was that I own the Custom variant and the hose is a little longer just as the other cables are. He didn't have a pattern for it so through the gracious help I received in here I'll be able to order mine today - $48 includes shipping. A bit higher than TAS but I know what I'm getting from Craig, TAS's version is probably made by Motion Pro, feel free to call them and they may know.
