Just thinking of updating my factory handlebars with something similar to beach bars. I didn't know if anyone had pics of any installed on a custom.

I ordered some 7/8" beach bars last year, hoping to get them on yet this year. Three small kids and mostly a single parent for the summer has got me frazzled! But...I'm not giving up hope! I'm working on a differnt look w/ my cx than cafe or chop...kinda old harley/indian thing. But alas, I'm on the cheap, e-bay what I can to scavenge other parts.Although, I've given away several parts to forum members who'd cover postage. Hey, I don't need them, This will probably be REALISTICALLY my last and only bike. But the cx is predictable and dependable. That being said, my side covers are in really nice shape. Anyone needs to swap out theirs w/ mine...I'm just going to sand and paint mine anyway. Get a hold of me.

As for your build, it would be great to see pics. I'm going to be taking some soon. I was very inspired by the helpful people here and I'd like to give back.

Ride safe, ride strong, be SEEN!

p.s. I just saw I was a newbie! Must have not posted anything since the changeover! HA!

No, not yet. It looks like I'll get a break to do some bike work over the holiday. I'll probably be needing the cx for transportation that week but I'll see if I can do a quick mock up w/ the beach bars and post a photo.

Here's a couple I found while fishing the net, just for an idea.

I swapped out some wide beach bar handlebars on my bike to see what they'll look like. I'll need to get some longer cables/brake lines, etc; but I think I'm gonna like the look. Hope these pics turn out.[attachment=1501:cx bars3.jpg][attachment=1503:cx bars.jpg][attachment=1502:cx bars2.jpg]

Nice..I had beach bars on my ACE and the handling was amazing, little push and pull to get where you wanted, very very comfy....what else are you planning on doing?

Oh and on your profile it says you live in a national forest?? HOws that? Sounds pretty nice to me....

Given some time, I'd like to head in a direction where the bike resembles something from the 40's or so. I've always liked wide fenders and fringe:) But I'd like something different than black. So I'm thinkin' of going w/ a brown leather seat and an antique white tank/fenders/etc; I have an old red and clear windshield that would work w/ what I'm thinking of. Just all in my head at the moment. I have acquired most of the pieces and/or materials to pull this off. Just need time (like most of us!) And currently, I needed the transportation for the holiday week, so I bolted up a headlight and tail light to get through for now. I've figured out pictures, I think, so as I go along, I'll post a few. My last "project" turned out ok(see pic), and not to far from what I had pictured, so I have some confidence in this one.

And yeah, I do live within the Nicolet/Chequamegon National forest in Wisconsin. Hundreds of lakes, Thousands of acres, miles and miles of streams and rivers....and the largest crop of mosquitoes I've seen in years!!!! But it's cool. It is really appreciated when I return from a visit to Milwaukee or Florida or any other busy place.
