Got to thinking, (yes it hurt) we have some members here with a good sense of humor.

Perhaps we could add a topic area in the forum here for just that...."Humor"

I am a member at about 8 or 9 different forums for different makes and vehicle types, and many have just that,

a section devoted to laughing, something light, jokes, humor.

Why not?

What do you all think....hmmmm?

Sounds like the off topic section.
Ya I suppose you could say that.

But devoted strictly to jokes etc.

Cobram has a thread there for that already, so I guess my point is moot.

I understand what you're saying and I do like a good joke but it seems if we only came here for jokes then the forum would have another name.

We do a good job at a few things and that's about it. Not that some of us don't know other things but the knowledge is limited.

This is probably why I had to join another forum devoted to motorcycle trailer building as well as hitches.

And another on motorcycle camping.

There is that one thread on humor. It's like having the condensed version. No hunting just one good thread.

Stitch, where is this motorcycle trailer and hitch forum located? I have a hitch, I have a trailer, I need some info.

Thanks,

Trickster, this forum can be a bit thin skinned. It's the bike that itself that attracts a certain type of owner (true of most forums I visited) I also go to other forums, they're not necessarily better just different. I come here for certain reasons and go to other forums for different reasons. It is interesting to me to observe the personality each board has. To use a much hackneyed phrase at the end of the day it's just a motorcycle board. Perhaps hold a Beer Summit?

Cheers, 50gary

This WORLD "can be a bit thin skinned" but that should not stop us from having a laugh, albeit in good taste of course.

And no I do not propose to turn this site into a joke forum, and this would not change a thing here about anything

motorcycle related. Just when you may have exhausted reading the new and old posts, maybe you just want a chuckle.

Like my home life, not always do we talk about the serious or hard facts of our daily endeavors, sometimes we laugh it

up, and I consider this forum like a second family in a way, so why not have a little section for just that?

BTW I see it as more than "just a motorcycle board", lots of good friendships are made here.

Tension relief area.

I know where to find the humor posts

I say leave it the way it is... as much of a dysfunctional mostly tight knit family as we are.. there will always be the humor posts, and the threadjacking.. lol

nice little bike forum run by reggie ,tell your jokes without been sanitised...to an extent

and it has bike stuff as well.

but i do come on to chopper for the bike stuff, jokes can put people's noses out of place especially if they do not have a warped sense of humour like me,and then you get tarnished as a trouble maker/home wrecker/juvenile deliquent/racist etc etc...I know from persoanl experience,so I keep my jokes for my friends who I know like a good laugh off site, except on-yer-bike

I believe it was Gene that turned me on to this place. It's a small group but a good amount of info.

BS, that is correct. I do have another acquired since then. While it is not specifically for trailer building it does have some threads on that within the forum. I have found MotoCampers. com to be a good site. They combine camping & motorcycles. They have a sub-forum for trailer campers and that is where you will find some build threads. The Delphi is a good forum, I had not been back over there in a while until I was reminded by your post! I don't think I knew you were building a trailer, is it going to be a tent camper or a cargo trailer?

Ok so there's where I got your name confused in everything. Motocampers is a good site too. I'm learning a lot there. The trailer I'm making is just a basic to carry stuff when we go two up camping. Hopefully out to Denver in june for two weeks and then along the mississippi in September for a week.

Two weeks ago I welded up an appropriate gooseneck replacement. It will have two pins to remove the tongue from a 1 foot extension from the trailer. That one foot extension will also have a base welded on it to hold a small cooler.

Except that apparently politics and religion, though off-topic, are apparently too off topic for this board. At least according to the new forum rules.

That's not due to the forums new rules. They are in there but only because it turned into a heated discussion that Charles stopped. I'll go dig up the link for you.

Well I cant find it oddly enough but the post was in the off topic and called No politics, religion, or porn.

Here is a line copied out of the post that caused it. It has also been deleted by Charles but sometimes we can find things.

Topic deleted by ChopperCharles  on 03 November 2010 - 09:23 PM. No politics, religion, or porn. Politics will polarize the forum and we'll lose half the members, so there will be none of that.
