I think was Oscar Wilde who said something about

the cynical man knowing the price of everything but the value of nothing

I saw this on UK Ebay and was annoyed

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Honda-cx500-f...38?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item43a6ee011a

Its certainly true the buggers rot like hell around the engine

mounts so he's partially correct

But

If the engine mounting parts of the frame ( always the worst part)

are as good as he says

the rest must be pristine !!

So, why did he cut up a perfectly good frame?

IDIOT !!

Quote:

"This is the right hand side of a cx500 frame off a standard cx500 in very good order .

you can cut off your old rotten mounting ears and mig this on so you dont need a new frame .

"MIG this on"?

Look matey it aint that simple ok?

Just MIG it on ????

Jeeez!

If he said it came from a frame that had a front end smack I'd forgive him

(Is it possible he cut it up because he's shy about disclosing the frame number

I wonder?)

Yes I saw them Allan

the bike was in good order he says!

Decent frames are getting scarce and it would have been a solid base

for a project bike until he took a saw to it.

Heres a pic from my archives of a frame I repaired with just a few holes

in it.

A relatively easy fix that one.

I've seen a lot worse than that and even had one here that had the rust holes

filled with silicone by some bodger
