My 1982 CX500C was working fine for the last few days, but it suddenly stopped working. I tried everything I could think of and finally, with the help of my dad, found out it had no spark by pressing the spark plug to ground and cranking. There is no spark and I don't know why. I'm hearing a lot about CDIs and TIs and I really don't know what those are exactly and I don't know which one is in my bike, but I hear it's a TI. If I could get any advice as to what those things are, which one is in my bike, and why my bike has no spark, that would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

It does have those two boxes. I'm very new as I'm only sixteen, so bear with me. I grounded it against the valve cover and there was no spark. I haven't bothered to check both. Should I?

Have you downloaded the FSM from the WIKI yet?

Just a thought, did yo also make sure that the kill switch on the handle bar is in the "run" position?
