Do those plastic caps where the "spokes" attach to the rim just pop off? Without breaking? I've been hesitant because I don't want to break them, but I want to clean up and paint the hub/spokes/rim, and paint the caps and be able to put them back on.

I took mine off carefully. I pryed them off, After I got them off looking at them I would recommend spraying them with silicone or something like that.

The reason is I think the plastic studs will pop free easier? There are two very small plastic studs with a little barb on them. The holes for the studs are only in the spokes, not the rims. The studs are inline with the letters "O" and "D" in the word Honda I Hope this helps?

Heat them up with a heat gun or hair dryer first. It makes the tabs a bit more pliable.
