Hi. What do you fellow turbo owners use as a replacement for part15538-mc7-000 and 15539-mc7-000 (turbo oil hose and oil hose protector)?
I've tried a piece of supposedly high temp braided hose but doesn't seem up to the job under the heat around the turbo.
Thanks in advance
Ray
Never had to deal with it, but you might try some flame retardant material. When I do plumbing work at home near wood rafters or wiring and such, I put it as a barrier. A hot torch on one side abs it does not even get hot on the other. Comes in sheets like one foot sqauare. Get it at your local menards, Lowe’s, home depot
You need a high temperature resistant hose line - I purchased some off ebay in the UK - I think elrodicator put me onto the type from his rebuild. See if I can find my purchase details for you.
Here you go - this stuff is exactly what you need.
Go to a hydraulic shop in your town and tell them you want a high temp, low pressure hose. 100 psi is fine, but you want a higher temp as you are dealing with 200F oil and bunch of btu's around the exhaust and turbo. I won't give an exact size because specs seem to vary so much. Carry your old hose or a fitting to match it up. Do not be tempted to buy a high pressure hose or a braided hose. Those are designed to be used with special fittings and you cannot seal those with a hose clamp, a low pressure hose can be tightened just fine with plain hose clamps. I would not bother sleeving the upper feed hose, it is enough of a pain in the a** to get on without an added degree of difficulty.
