I had been running into a problem with my 79 CX500 Deluxe bogging down between 4000 - 5500 rpm when under load.

I cleaned the carbs as per Larry's instructions multiple times, replaced my coils, installed new Plug Boots + Plugs, and did the Stator test multiple times.
I could not figure out why my bike would bog down under load every time in every gear.
I also added the symptom of it running rich on the right hand cylinder.

After lots of troubleshooting (and reading on this forum) I went at those pesky Carb Rubber Plugs.
I had remembered that one of them had been pretty loose.

I replaced the plug with the bottom of a BIC Pen, took her out for a spin around the neighborhood, and the problem was gone!
So if you are having problems with Bog under load, have cleaned and checked everything, try replacing those plugs.
WORKED WONDERS FOR ME.

Nothing like the effects of recycling used parts................. that should be tossed.

Glad you found the culprit.
