This is the place to discuss the annual Amish Rally, which takes place every year in and around Milton PA, USA.

This will be the 22nd anniversary of the Amish.

If you don't know what it is, use the search box for this board, or check the sticky'd post titled "HTTA AMISH RALLY information".

Post all comments/suggestions/concerns here in lieu of making new posts on this same topic, this will make it easier for everyone to follow.

Dates are set and confirmed with cabin management.

Thanks to Steve (andTony?) for setting this up again this year! It’s always a good low key inexpensive event. If you’ve been, you know. If you haven’t been, you should come.

Bro Dave (yellow cX650e) and I on the CX500D expect to spend a couple of days there and likely cruise the game lands. 👍👍👍

Could this be stickied in general discussion for awhile? Is cross posting with auto updating doable?

there are more than enough "stickies" already

I'm looking forward to another trip to PA for the 2023 Amish Rally.

But this would only be a temporary sticky!

You're right, there are lots of stickies including torque values of different sizes bolts.

We can duplicate a thread, but I don't think we can put a shortcut in another subforum. The best, I think, would be a different thread with a link.
My name is Greg. I'm in Waynesboro PA. I'm native to Lancaster county. AKA Amish Central lol.

This seems like a pretty good time. I will likely only be able to do a sat. Evening thru Monday morning/afternoon but I would like to try to get out to meet others that share an interest in the vintage motorcycle world. Especially those with the same or similar bikes as myself! Just figured I'd give a shot in this thread so I have an easy time tracking it and planning for the future

Once again, Barney's Amish debut is in jeopardy. I had just completed 150 miles since the finish of the build, rode to a Patriot Guard mission, and even entered it a local Car/Bike show on Saturday (I didn't win). I had just declared it fully roadworthy when something went terribly wrong. I posted details in the Tech forum but, basically, I heard a noise that sounded like a speedometer that needs lubrication and a few miles later, it disengaged from all gears. Engine runs fine. Gonna crack the clutch cover tomorrow and pray that my guess is correct that the clutch failed somehow. Otherwise I'll probably have to drop the engine to find the problem. I REALLY don't want to do that!! Wish me luck, guys!
Dan
Good luck with the “Discovery” phrase. You’ve got some time before PA. And we all know you have determination in good quantity.

Well, I found my problem. The rear axle nut came off and allowed the differential to disengage. No apparent damage replaced the nut, tightened everything down (with a generous application of thread lock) and the problem was fixed. Now the really sad part. I had the bike on my lift to work on it. It was on the center stand. When I took it off the center stand, my right foot slipped off the edge of the lift and me and the the bike went down. The damage was not as severe as I thought it would be, but the bottom of the fairing got cracked (pics below). the molding on the edge of the fairing was also damaged. I'm not sure how I'm going to fix the fairing. Anyone have any ideas? Does anyone have one those of trim moldings lying around?

Glad to hear, you found the problem.
So sad that you dropped the bike
I think I have some "edging" left over from when I refurbished my GL500.
Remind me closer to the Amish rally date and I'll bring it with me (y)

Dan, Keith's offer may be better for you than mine. Let me know either way. By the way, the fact that you are getting responses to your two messages illustrates why this is frowned upon. Better to have your question in one thread only and the post a link in other threads.

I'll have to stop by this year on four wheels. My Ford Maverick Hybrid arrived Friday, May 26th after 594 days of waiting since i ordered on October 9th, 2021.
Now I need to sell everything else. So, anybody who wants to upgrade to a really great ST1100 (49,000 miles) or a 1996 XR200 or XR250L, bring a truck.
Also on the chopping block is my hot rod 83 Dodge D-150 which shows 102,000 miles but the 360/300HP special built engine, 727 transmission and whole lot of other parts have less than 10,000 miles on them. Four wheel disc brakes too.
Last is my beloved 1996 Honda Prelude Si. (99,000 miles) Boy I'm gonna miss terrorizing lesser vehicles with that one @ 140mph.). I have good titles for all and all the bikes are street legal.

I might point out that these vehicles have been owned and maintained by a lifelong aircraft airframe and power plant certified mechanic. 👍
You forgot "Honda motorcycle mechanic." 5 years doing that and 42 working on planes.
I should add that the truck will run after an EMP strike, so you will be able to get outta Dodge, in a Dodge.
