Just picked up a 1983 CX650C from a buddy who reflected it. Bike only has 9000~ miles on it and didn't take too much to get started.

Since this is an old bike, I am going to follow the maintenance schedule in the shop manual, but what areas should I focus on replacing right away? Mainly looking at rubber hoses, lines, and gaskets. Also, there was not air filter in there and any items on how to make a DIY one for this bike?

Anything else you bring my way would be helpful!

Anything rubber is a consumable like fluids, assume tires, rubber hoses are all candidates for upgrading. Date stamp on tires should be 4 digits, not 3 (3 is pre-2000).
Let us know what date stamp you have.
