Hello All - great group - taking a chance on this:

1981 GL500 - Made it through the Canadian winter seemingly OK - Except:

My front headlight, on the Shadown Royale Fairing - has gone dim - this happened at the end of last season. I had a spare headlight, which I recently connected to the same result.

Question - has anyone else experienced this, solution?

At this point I suspect it is connector, or fuse related.
I've been OK with maintenance, but electrical has tripped me up in the past.

All feedback appreciated!

I have a Hondaline fairing on mine that somewhere along the line a grounding wire was added from it to the engine.
If I remove it, the lights in the fairing become dim.
This tells me that there is a poor connection {ground wise} between it and the bike frame.
So, as Murray said, add an additional ground wire from the fairing wiring to the bike frame and it should solve the problem.
If it does not then you will have to go through all the harness and check that all the connections are clean and tight, including the switches.
