    Technical Help Forum
Hey guys, first huge thanks to this forum. You guys are amazing and have helped me so much in this dream of rebuilding a bike. So here's the problem I've run into: My GL650 has increased engine noise (I think it is transmission related) whenever I am riding in the 2500-3000rpm range. It's not...
  2. Shift Drum Cam Plate Position (5th Gear)

    Technical Help Forum
About to reinstall the rear cover on my triple bypass project and I'm checking the gear shifting as per the old triple bypass page on the wiki (which appears to be offline at the moment). The 5th gear position is not advancing all the way into the slot on the shift drum cam plate as it does on...
  3. Selling BMW transmission parts

    Off-Topic Posts
I have some BMW parts I'm looking to sell. Since this isn't CX related, I felt "off-topic" was best to post. Does anyone regularly visit any BMW forums. I know there's the BMW Moa forum, but I don't know of any other large BMW forums. SportTouring.net? I have a 1996 BMW R1100R transmission...

I have all the bolts out, and it is slightly separated from the engine, but I need to find some kind of release to get it off. Anyone know?

  7. Technical help for a noob - RPM & cam chain questions

    Technical Help Forum
I got my cx500 a few months ago and first time I ever rode a bike was in february. However, I have a degree in mechanical engineering and have always enjoyed DIY stuff so I have some basic knowledge and am trying to do all the work myself. I've fully taken apart the carbs, cleaned them...
